Sizing and Garment care
At Scarlet Lotus, we want you to love your items for years to come. We know it can be tricky choosing the right size online, and caring for your garments—especially with print-on-demand designs—can feel a bit daunting. Here’s our no-nonsense, transparent advice to help you get the best out of your purchase.
T-Shirts & Tote Bags
A quick note about care:
You might notice a care label on your tee or tote, but this doesn’t take into account the printing processes we use after the garment is made. To keep your prints looking fresh, vibrant, and crisp, please follow our tips below (even if the label says otherwise!):
Wash cool: 30°C or lower is best.
Turn inside out: This protects the print from friction and fading.
Mild detergent only: No bleach, and skip the fabric softener—prints last longer!
Tumble dry?: Only on a very cool setting (if you must). For best results, air dry.
Ironing: Iron inside out on a low heat. Never iron directly on the print.
Sizing for T-Shirts
Our t-shirts are pretty true to size, but we know everyone’s body—and preference for fit—is unique. If you prefer a looser or baggier fit, consider sizing up. If you’re unsure or need a second opinion, just drop us a message—we’re always happy to help.
Swimwear Care
To keep your swimwear soft, vibrant, and in top shape:
Rinse well: After every dip—especially in salt water or chlorine.
Cool wash: 30°C or lower.
No tumble dry: Please air dry to keep fabric and prints happy.
Mild detergent: No bleach, no fabric softener.
Wash inside out: Protects the print and fabric.
Swimwear Sizing & Fit
Bikini tops: We recommend going one size up for a comfy fit.
Bikini bottoms: Generally true to size.
Swimsuits: These tend to fit best on shorter torsos. If you’re taller or have a longer torso, the fit may feel a little short. Support for larger chests is moderate—some customers find it perfect, others may want more support. It really depends on your personal preference and comfort. We’re always looking at new styles to fit a wider range of bodies, so watch this space!
